Zoox, the first electric robotaxi of its kind, debuted in Las Vegas and is now being readied for the hills of San Francisco. A Bay Area native — born in 2014 and built under co-founder Jesse Levinson alongside designers Chris Stoffel and Nahuel Battaglia in Foster City and Hayward — the vehicle features a friendly, bidirectional, symmetrical form.

It drives equally well forward or backward and includes subway-style doors, roomy four-seat carriages with facing seats, Wi-Fi, advanced sensors, and custom sounds that welcome riders aboard. Spot one.
